Saints Secure Cash Grants

Following the $5000 "Black Opal" sponsorship donated by Opal Inn Managing Director Robert Coro, the Coober Pedy Football Club has received notice of two other donations totalling $13,000. State Member for Giles Lyn Breuer has promised $10,000, and Pirsa (Primary Industries and Resources), $3000. The cash will help defray the bus hire and travelling costs of the eight-hour return trip to Woomera each week.

Last match saw The Saints go down to Hornridge by only 5 points. Final Scores: Hornridge 13 goals 10 behinds (88), Coober Pedy 12 goals 11 behinds (83).

The team will play at home on the Coober Pedy ground on June 18.

Ghostly blower in the fog - unusual weather for a desert winter

Statement from Oxiana Ltd MD Owen Hegarty

Prominent Hill is only 130 kilometres to the northwest of Olympic Dam which has been in the news recently. In the pre-feasibility stage we’ve been working on a number of areas including drilling to lift the category of the resource, metallurgical test work, infrastructure studies and permitting for the project.

The broad objective of the pre-feasibility study is to determine the scale and scope of the project and the best metallurgical processing route. When we’ve completed that work in the next few months, we’ll move into the detailed feasibility stage which will involve preliminary engineering design and capital and operating cost estimates.

The pre-feasibility study is basically on schedule and we may have an updated resource base ready to release in the June quarterly report. Given most of the recent drilling has been infill to upgrade the resource confidence we would not expect the current resource size to change significantly at this time. However, our understanding of the geology and mineralisation has been considerably enhanced by this drill program and the ore body is hanging together well.

Additionally we are starting to understand the potential of the "gold only" zones. The complete results of the pre-feasibility study should be released during the September quarter.
