As an avid and slightly bemused reader of the 'local rag' on-line, I can't help
wondering about the ephemeral nature of mining communities over our very recent
history.
Some of the 'issues' I have read about are similar in 'ernest intent' to the same
problems experienced in other communities during the gold rush days of the 1890's
and early 1900's.
This being said, should the 'fields' continue to distance themselves from the
existing town because of 'travel' and reward, where will you be if some enterprising
group decide to establish themselves 'closer to the action' ?
Perhaps sealed roads and sewage are pressing issues for those bent on the
'establishment', but mining forever moves on leaving the detritus of 'ernest intent'
to degrade and vanish by the roadside. This is a fact.
Oh, but the traders grieve !

Love your site.
I saw the ABC special.
You obviously don't have blackfellers there . . . why?
