CHANGE OF REGIME FOR THE AUSTRALIAN OPAL EXHIBITION INC
I have been appointed as coordinator of the Australian Opal Exhibition and Janice Evert is President, following the resignation of Frank Tyne.
I have been Secretary/Manager of the Lightning Ridge Miners' Association Ltd for the past 14 years and of the National Opal Miners Association since its inception. Janice is a member of one of the oldest boulder opal families in Queensland, has been involved in the opal industry for all of her life and runs a successful opal wholesaling business. Between us we have extensive knowledge and experience of all facets of the opal industry and are confident the Exhibition will become a major event on the gem industry calendar.
2007 will be the sixth Australian Opal Exhibition and a must for anyone involved in the opal industry from exhibitors to delegates.
We have changed the format slightly and the trade only exhibition will be held at the Gold Coast International Hotel, Surfers Paradise, Queensland for two days on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd August 2007 and Saturday 4th will be given over to a fun golf tournament for the benefit of charity.
A range of exhibitors will be displaying their wares and there is bound to be something available for everyone from collectors pieces, black, boulder, light, crystal, rough, rubs to specimens and funky to classic fine jewellery.
There are some great spots still available for exhibitors and a special accommodation rate is offered for those attending and you can also pre-register to save time at the door. For further information simply email mail@austopalexpo.com.au or phone Maxine on 0427 920
474.

Next season we hope to have a go on the Coober Pedy Field.

Here is a photo taken when we were noodling on the Grawin Field. You can see a hand operated wet agitator on the left.
