Road train rollover - Stuart Highway closed north of Coober Pedy
Motorists travelling the Stuart Highway about 45 kms north of Coober Pedy are advised of a triple trailer road train roll-over.
There is a lot of debris on the road and the Stuart Highway is blocked.
So please be aware and slow down when approaching the scene. Obey all police directions at the scene and please be patient.

Remote area thefts

Far North police are recommending that people on remote properties review their security following a noticable increase in the theft of agricultural off-road motorbikes from both rural and residental properties.
Areas where thefts have been experienced include Coober Pedy, Quorn and Port Augusta with both standard two-wheel bikes and quad bikes stolen.
It appears as though thieves are taking advantage of the trusting nature of country folk whereby security is not a priority.
So police offer a timely reminder to property owners to consider the security of their bikes so as to avoid the inconvenience caused by inconsiderate thieves.
In the meantime, police ask if anyone spots people acting suspiciously in and around remote area properties or if they have any information about these recent thefts to call Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000 or online www.sa.crimestoppers.com.au

IMX wins Mining and Energy Award

IMX Media Release, 16 October

IMX Resources has affirmed its position as one of South Australia's most awarded mining companies, receiving the coveted Mining and Energy Award for outstanding international success at the Business SA Export Awards 2013 last week.
General Manager Simon Parsons, who runs IMX Resources' Cairn Hill Mining Operation near Coober Pedy said,
"We are very proud to receive this award.
As pioneers of the South Australian iron ore industry, we are extremely humbled and grateful for the recognition this award represents, and as a proud South Australian it's an honour to lead a Company with such a strong presence in my home state.
"The ingenuity displayed by the IMX team has seen us become South Australia's second largest iron ore producer, the first new iron ore exporter in SA in over 100 years and the first to ship iron ore from Port Adelaide.
This award is testimony to the innovation, professionalism and hard work of a dedicated team of employees and contractors who run our South Australian operations.
In particular, I'd like to acknowledge the collaboration between IMX Resources and Flinders Ports in implementing the innovative rotating container or 'Rotainer' system at Port Adelaide, which was a first for Australia and a logistical breakthrough that enabled our Cairn Hill Iron Ore Mining Operation to be the success that it has been."
